Feeling Lucky

I've never been an exceptionally lucky person, but today I considered myself the luckiest person alive. The day didn't start out on the luckiest foot considering the fact that we woke up to find our camp site had been invaded during the night by a pack of stray dogs who ate most of our food. However, it was a small hitch in an otherwise great early day of riding.

Pride in Practicality

Today we met people who are all about practicality, and we spread a little practicality of our own along the way. This morning we biked out of Harlowton toward the Martinsdale Hutterite Colony about 25 miles away to learn about their wind generation. The Hutterites are a small hardworking community of people who share their roots with the Mennonites, but are communal, and share everything. They share their homes, money, and jobs within the colony. Mostly they make a living farming, but the group we met today had taken advantage of an opportunity to harness the wind.

Persistence, dedication, and spirit

Today we started our morning with Wilbur and Elizabeth Wood, two people passionately involved with Alternative Energy Resources Organization (AERO). The group wanted to spread their message in small towns through education and a traveling show that mixed theater and technology on a visceral level.
