SUMMARY:Wild Rockies: Conservation across Boundaries Final Presentation
DESCRIPTION:The Crown of the Continent contains some of the most intact wildlands in North America and includes populations of grizzlies\, bison\, and wolves. The area is also home to rapidly changing rural communities. Conserving critical wildlife habitat\, while making room for changing human development\, is a tremendous challenge. Nine college students from around the country have joined the Wild Rockies Field Institute to explore how communities have wrestled with this challenge. The students have spent six weeks hiking the region’s mountains\, kayaking its rivers\, and meeting with people who have a wide variety of perspectives on the region they call home. Come hear their perspectives on the course theme\, “Conservation across boundaries.” Photos from our course will be projected for the audience\, and time will be reserved for audience questions and discussion. Light refreshments will also be served.
