Ali Bierman
Greetings! My name is Ali, I am a 2021 Colorado Plateau alum, and an almost-graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in Business and Sustainability. My roots are in Bozeman, Montana, where I grew up in the mountains. It was almost impossible to not fall in love with the blistering cold winters and the vibrant summers. As I grew, my appreciation for my surroundings paralleled. I learned how to be who I am amongst the high-alpine aspen groves and the wandering rivers that snake through the state. When I discovered that I had the opportunity to learn outside, I knew that was exactly where I needed to be.
The Wild Rockies Field Institute was an incredible experience, allowing me to fully appreciate the importance of hands-on learning. The skills I learned in my course serve me not only in my outdoor adventures but also in my academics. WRFI is like a family, and I’m so thankful to be a part of it. One of our guest speakers, Randy Ramsley, talked with us about the necessity of finding the fearlessness of being an individual and listening to your heart to know what’s right. I knew WRFI was the right learning experience for me—not only did I learn academics, but I learned how to be the best version of myself.
All of my experiences combines amounted to so much more than any lecture could ever cover. Please reach out if you have any questions, I am here to talk!
