The Wild Rockies Field Institute shapes the lives of the people who take our courses, making them better students, and more thoughtful and responsible citizens. We work hard to provide the most academically meaningful and memorable courses in a student’s undergraduate education. We also believe that high quality education should be available to as many students as possible.
It is only through the generosity of our donors that we are able to provide need-based scholarships to students who might not otherwise be able to afford participation in one of our courses.
Unrestricted, general donations are greatly appreciated as well and are used in a variety of ways from helping to pay office rent to the purchase of new gear.
GIVE NOWBECOME A MONTHLY DONOR: Monthly donations are one of the best ways to support WRFI on a continued basis. You can become a monthly donor (or change your monthly donation amount) here.
DONATE ONLINE: Make a secure one-time or recurring gift online using your credit or debit card here.
DONATE BY MAIL: If you wish to mail your gift, make it payable to WRFI and send it to: PO Box 7071, Missoula, MT 59807
DONATE BY PHONE: Contact our office at 406-549-4336 to make a donation by phone.
MATT THOMAS SCHOLARSHIP: You can help us remember WRFI co-founder Matt Thomas by donating to the Matt Thomas Endowment Scholarship here, a merit-based scholarship awarded to Montana Afoot and Afloat students who most clearly embody Matt’s ideals and visions.
MATCHING GIFTS: Many companies offer a matching funds program, which can double your gift to the Wild Rockies Field Institute. Some companies also offer volunteer grants providing monetary donations as a match for employee’s volunteer work. Contact your Human Resources office to find out whether your company has a matching gifts program.
DONATE YOUR VEHICLE: WRFI is a field-based program–And we’re always needing to get folks out into the field! If you have a vehicle you’d like to donate, we’re all ears. We are especially interested in SUVs and vans (to transport students), or very fuel efficient models (hybrids especially) with fewer than 150,000 miles on them. If you have a vehicle that doesn’t meet our needs exactly, we also are happy to accept it as a donation and sell it, using the proceeds to support WRFI’s work. If you have a vehicle you’re interested in donating, please email our executive director, Matt Baker-White.
