John Stanfield

Instructor

John moved to Montana to attend the University of Montana’s MA program in Environmental Ethics after earning his BA in Philosophy from Penn State. At UM, he became interested in the concept of wildness, and the value in leaving things to their own devices. He also grew to love wildflowers and walking up big hills. After completing grad school, John has held a range of positions, working at a Thai restaurant, as an Americorps member placed in the Montana State Parks, teaching ethics at UM, and working as a commercial bee keeper. John is an instructor on WRFI’s Environmental Ethics: Climate Change and Visions of a Sustainable Future course.
