Kimberly Rivers

Social Media Manager

A native North Carolinian who fell in love with the American West after taking a WRFI course in 2016, Kimberly is an outdoor enthusiast who especially enjoys backpacking trips deep in the mountains. She splits her time as WRFI’s Social Media Manager and as a Naturalist Guide in National Parks across the country. She is passionate about sharing her love for natural spaces with others to encourage their protection, and joined the WRFI team to help more students take life changing experiential courses!

The Wild Rockies Field Institute provides an incredibly unique opportunity for students to really engage with the cultures, landscapes, and ecosystems of the United States. I felt that in many ways, I was studying abroad in my own country, getting to know landscapes, issues, and cultures that were far outside of my home region. I feel wildly lucky and so grateful to have spent two months with a group of incredible instructors and students learning about the beauty, complexities, and resiliency of the Colorado Plateau. Thank you, WRFI!
