Sydney (she/her) grew up in Olympia, Washington and has spent the last eight years living in grand ol’ Missoula, Montana! She first came to Missoula to attend the University of Montana, where she studied Communication and Climate Change. She fell in love with Montana through climbing rocks and zooming through the trees on her bike. She also quickly discovered her passion for environmental education.

Syd has worked for many years in the realm of outdoor education, both in Montana and Colorado. Most recently, she taught a creative writing summer course in Leadville, Colorado. Settled back into Missoula now, Syd is currently pursuing her M.S. in Environmental Studies at the University of Montana, where she is specifically focused on education and creative writing.

Syd loves to eat bubblegum flavored ice cream, ride her mountain bike, fly fish, splash around on a packraft, and cook dinner with friends.
