Claire Deveney

Administration and Finance Manager

Claire joined WRFI in 2024 after moving to Missoula from Salida, Colorado. She spent 15 years exploring American wilderness areas, completing thru-hikes of the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, the Continental Divide Trail, and the Grand Enchantment Trail. A life-long learner, Claire is excited to share her love of nature and the transformative power of time in the wild with students at WRFI.

Wild Rockies Field Institute raises the bar on experiential learning. As a two-time WRFI alum, I can say that some of my most meaningful college experiences have come from my courses in Montana and on the Colorado Plateau. I learned academic material that translates well back to my home institution and now have practical knowledge about life in the backcountry and living in community. WRFI has made me a more well-rounded individual and the lessons I learned, academically and personally, will be carried with me for the rest of my life.
