Margot has been teaching college students in and out of the field since 2005. Born and raised in the urban wilds of New York City, she moved to the Northern Rockies and also spent extended time in Alaska after graduating from Colby College. Margot earned a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from the University of California at Berkeley in 2015, and an M.S. from the University of Montana in 2005. Most recently, she was a visiting professor at Macalester College and is currently teaching in the Environmental Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse. Margot has long believed in bicycles as vehicles for change, and designed a bicycle history and politics course, entitled “Bicycling the Urban landscape.” She has enjoyed extended bicycle powered vacations in California, Washington, Vermont, Montana, British Columbia, Norway, and Cuba.
