Matt Herbert
Matt joined WRFI in 2026 as Marketing Coordinator and is so excited to be joining the team! They grew up in the Great Plains of Colorado in the shadows of the Rocky Mountain front and spent their weekends playing in the dirt, running around the foothills, and exploring ghost towns in the Southern Rocky and San Juan mountains! They moved to New York City to attend New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where they got a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Television Production.
Matt moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2020 and served as the COVID Pandemic Response Coordinator for the CBS network show NCIS: Los Angeles during production of NCIS’s twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth seasons. During the SAG and WGA strikes of 2023, Matt decided to leave Hollywood and pursue a career in Environmental Education, first heading to northern Washington where they served as Operations Coordinator for North Cascade Institute’s field campus inside North Cascades National Park. They then moved to Montana in spring of 2025, stepping is as the Marketing Manager for Glacier Institute and spent the year running around Glacier National Park and falling back in love with the Rocky Mountain ecosystem. They are beyond thrilled to bring their passion for authentic storytelling, environmental advocacy, and meaningful connections to the outdoors to the WRFI team and settle into life in beautiful Missoula, Montana!
In addition to their work at WRFI, Matt is an artist, photographer, poet, and lover of animals. In their free time, Matt can be found hiking with their dog, Sherman, watching movies, writing by a body of water, or searching for the best baked goods and strongest coffee!
